Cranky Pregnant Girl (aka Jessica Neuman Beck) gave birth to Cranky Baby in December of 2005. Mama and baby live with Not-So-Cranky Dada in Portland, Oregon, where it does not rain nearly as much as you’d think.
And now, a meme – updated for 2007!
What did you do in 2006 that you’d never done before?
Started a business. Made stuffed toys. Learned (some) CSS. Had a toddler. Traveled to Mexico. (With a toddler.)
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Calling myself a designer.
What do you wish you’d done more of?
Yoga. And sleeping.
What do you wish you’d done less of?
Worrying. And cleaning.
What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
A discernable waist? Also some freelance work. And perhaps a massage. (All of these are holdovers from last year. How little things change…)
What did you want and get?
I’ve pretty much gotten everything I wanted this year, except, as I might have mentioned, sleep.
What did you want and not get?
Um. Sleep. And a Motorola Pebl. And the Nike+iPod thinger. Oh, how I want the Nike+iPod thinger.
What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 32. We were in Mexico, so I know I had a fab time.
What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Money! And a Nike+iPod thinger.
What was the best thing you bought?
Dude. The camera.
Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
So many people.
…Happier or sadder?
…Thinner or fatter?
FATTER. Which is depressing, since last year I was pregnant.
…Richer or poorer?
Oh, poorer. But that’s okay, right?
What was your greatest musical discovery?
The Dirty Sock Funtime Band.
How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005?
Who were the best new people you met?
Too many to list! *blows kisses to my mama friends*
Did you fall in love in 2006?
Every day. (Still true!)
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Starting our own business! And maintaining my A average.
What was your biggest failure?
Being a good wife. I know, feminists everywhere are shooting daggers at me.
Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006.
Babies love pickles.
